Life is like a box of chocolates

Sometimes you don't know what's inside until you take a bite. Life for us is like that at the moment. We have packed up our house to sell so alot of our possessions are in boxes piled in the barn. After 17 years in the one house with a family of five adults equals alot of boxes.
Today I had a class at the patchwork house in Hawthorn so last night I thought I would get my stuff together that I carefully put away in a box only to discover that the entire box had been taken to the barn. Do you think I could find it? Of course not so what does that mean, panic to find enough equipment to get through the lesson without holding everyone else up and having to buy new fabric to practice on.

Life gets too busy sometimes

I have been studying my Cert 3 in Aged care so there has not been much time for patchwork, quilting or anything really. I have just finished my 1st workplacement so I will have a little more time to persue my love of craft.
Last week I discovered the new BOM from Elefantz called Shabby roses. I will try and work out how to put the links on my site. What a generous person she is to share her talents with us. I have managed to prepare some material to start stitching. This will be my sports quilt. Every year I choose a stitchery quilt to do while I watch my kids play soccer or basketball.
I haven't really set any craft goals for this term. I know that this was the year of finishing but hey what's one more WIP.
Take care

The Year of Finishing

I have decided that 2009 will continue to be the year of finishing.

I would like to finish all the quilts and projects that I have started BEFORE I start anything new.
Problem is that new ideas and patterns sometimes catch my attention and before I know it I'm starting something new.

January I plan to finish my handpieced hexagon quilt that I started in November 2007. So far it has taken me 14 months to date. That includes a couple of months of not doing anything on it because I got so over it. But its a new month and a new challenge to move past that feeling and get on with it.

I cannot find my camera at the moment so I cannot upload a picture.
